Former England captain Michael Vaughan has backed the Australian women’s team to win their fifth T20 World Cup in the ongoing tournament Down Under.
The cricket-turned-commentator picke𝔉d the defending champions ahead of the England team which won the inaugural edition of the World Cup at home, back in 2009.
The English women’s team suffered a loss during their opening match of the tournament at the hands of South Africa by a margin of 6 wickets.
Australia, on the other hand, has had a mixed campaign in the tournament thus far. The hosts’ vulnerability was exposed against spin during their massive defeat at the hands of the Indians.
With their ace spin🤡ner in Poonam Yadav, India ran through the mighty Aussie lineup, which eventually led to their 17-run defeat in the tournament opener.
Many tagged the Indian win as an ‘upset’ despite Indian defeating the Australian women’s team on numerous occasions off-late
The Aussies received several hiccups against Sri Lanka with the bat, wh📖en they were reduced to 10-3, chasing a par score of 123.
Their weakness against pace-off was exposed yet ag꧃ain, during their fixture at Perth on Monday. Their cream went back in the hut without adding much to the board💝.
However, heroics from captain Meg Lanning (41) and their seasoned campaigner Rachel Haynes (60*), enabled the Aussies to get past the Sri Lankan to🍸tal.
Aussies to Win the after that win me thinks … !! !!

Group A is now brilliantly pois💜ed with India winning both their games in the tournament. New Zealand has won the only game they have played so far.
In the end, it will be a face-off between India, Australia, and the White Ferns for the semi-finals spot i🤡n Group A. Sri Lanka and Bangladesh can always threaten to upset any of the big three teams on their day.
