Prominไent cricket presenter May♒anti Langer, who is now the face of Star Sports, recently got nostalgic about her struggling days during one of the interactions with a magazine.

Langer came into r🌊eckoning during the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL) in 2007, before the inception of the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL).

While presenting the cricket league, Langer met Karnataka all-rounder Stuart Binny, who also featured in the Kapil Dev’s brainchild.

Just when ICL started to gain prominence, the league was dissolved after its second season. The Binny-Langer pair struggled in their career for a while.

“When we met each other, we were both nowhere. ICL had finished abruptly, so he was banned from the system. He hadn’t accepted BCCI amnesty, so he had nothing going for him. I had left Zee so I had nothing going for me,” Langer told Verve Magazine.

Also, d♌uring the lengthy interview, Langer talked about her aspirations to work under the banner of IPL, but was rejected multiple times.

“We weren’t nobodies, but we were normal individuals. Everything good that has happened to us in our respective careers has happened after we got together,” continued Langer.

Soon after, Binny rose through ranks and went on to represent India in all for🅘mats, and also represented top franchises in the IPL, namely Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Langer, on the other hand, went on to present prominent sporting events such as Indian Super League (ISL), FIFA World Cup 2010, Men’s Hockey World Cup 2010, London Olympics in 2012.

Also, the Hindu college alma-mater was part of the 🔯Cricket World Cup in 2011 and 2015. With Star Sports achieving the broadcast rights in 2018, Langer then became a part of the IPL to change her destiny.

“If that journey brought us together, and made all these incredible things happen for each other, then something is going to work out in the future as well. Maybe we can combine and do something because our lives are so similar and cricket has given us everything,” concluded Langer.
