Australia’s run machine in Test cricket in the bygone season, Marnus Labuschagne, responded to praises from former Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar.
Earlier, Sachin picked Labuschagne as the batsmen from the current generation who reminded him of himself. To which, the Queenslander recently responded to, during an interview at the Australian Cricket Award Ceremony, in Melbourne’s Crown Tower.
“It was pretty amazing, one that I was quick to rate it, and when it hit me, I was like these are pretty amazing words from someone of his caliber. So, I was really grateful for his word. Just stoked really,” Labuschagne told reporters.

Earlier, during a promotional event for the Bushfire Relief Match in Sydney, Tendulkar hailed the Australian number three as ‘special’.
“I saw Marnus getting hit (on the helmet by) the second ball he faced from Jofra Archer and post that, the 15 minutes he batted I said ‘this player looks special, there is something about him,” Sachin told media a week back.
“His footwork was precise, and footwork is not physical, it’s mental. If you’re not thinking positively in your mind, then your feet don’t move. So that clearly indicated to me that this guy is mentally strong,” concluded Sachin.
The batting maestro took on Ellyse Perry for an over, during the mid-innings break of the T10 match between Ricky Ponting XI andᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ Adam Gilchrist XI.
