The much-anticipated All-Stars game of Indian Premier League (I♍PL) 2020 will now be played after the tournament. This match was supposed to take place three days before the start of the cash-rich league, but due to operational reasons, it is now scheduled to be played after the tournament, which ends on May 24.

Brijesh Patel – chairman of IPL Governing Council – confirmed the news and said two teams would be picked for the special game on the grounds of players’ performances in the league.

“We are not calling it off, it has just been postponed to the end of the tournament,” said Patel as quoted by Cricbuzz.

“We wanted to see how the players are performing, and on the basis of that, form the teams for the All-Star match,” added Patel.

However, as per media reports, the IPL franchises were not ready for the All-Star match to take place before the start of the lucrative league as they didn’t want to risk losing their star players to injury.
