The multi-million project💖 of revamping the Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Stadium in Motera finally has been completed. The stadium can now hold a capacity of 1,10,000 people, thereby making it the largest cricket stadium in the world.
India played Sri Lanka last in the old Motera stadium in 2014. Since then, no cricketing 🥃action has taken place in the stadium where the quarter-final between India and Australia was played in the 2011 World Cup.
The Board of Control fꦚor Cricket in India (BCCI), ꦅrecently, posted a picture of the newly-built stadium, with a picturesque aerial view.

The stadium is all set to topple Melbourne Cricket Ground’s capacity ofಌ 1,00,000 to become the largest cricketing arena in the world.
It was revamped at an exorbitant amount of 700 crores an൲d is spread across 63 acres of land area, which will house indoor training area, two cricket grounds, with facilities for swimming, hockey, and football.
As per initial media reports, US President Donald Trump was slated to inaugurate the stadium during his visit to A🐽hmedabad on February 24. However, the chances of him inaugurating the grand stadium look bleak with reports of 🧜him not attending the ceremony.
