The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gave the go-ahead for a Day-Night Test in Australia when India tours Down Un♌der in 2020-2021. Also, the newly-built Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad will host one of the Test matches between India and England.
India recently hosted its first Pink Test at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata and opened its account in the Pink Ball Test. However, the BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly, discredited the validation of two Day-Night Test matches✱ 🔯in the series.
“Two out of four would be a bit too much with the pink ball,” Ganguly told EspnCricinfo. The decisions were taken by BCCI’s Apex Council, along with Jay Shah, and Cricket Australia delegates back in January when India met Australia for the ODI series.
“We played the day-night Test [against Bangladesh] here, we were pretty happy with how it went. It’s become a very exciting feature of any Test series and we’re open to playing day-night Tests,” Indian captain Virat Kohli stated in tandem with Dada.
“We’re ready and up for the challenge – whether it’s Gabba, Perth… it doesn’t matter to us, we have the skillsets as a team now to compete against anyone in the world, anywhere, in any format of the game, whether it’s white ball, red ball or pink ball, we’re ready to play anything,” added Kohli.
Also, India and England will feature in a Day-Night Test match a🌃t Motera Stadium in January-February 2021. The revamped stadium will now have a capacity of 1,10,000, thereby, making it the large🐭st cricket stadium in the world.
The last time when the English team visited the Indian shores for a 5-matc𒊎h Test series, they were handed a 4-0 defeat in 2016. Also, India stood victorious during their tour to Australia in 2018-19 in the Bor💃der-Gavaskar series.
