Cricket Australia (CA) announced their 14-man squad for💃 the upcoming three-match ODI series against New Zealand at home, starting March 13.
Initially pic♉ked for the T20I series against South Africa, Jhye Richardson will remain with the Australian squad for the upcoming 3-match ODI series against South𓆏 Africa.
But the talented pacer, which made Dale Steyn draw parallels with him, did not make the cut into tꦰhe ODI squad aga🅠inst New Zealand. The rest of the squad remains unchanged for Australia.
They meet South Africa for the T20I series decider at Newlands in Cape Town on Wednesday. Australia defeated New Zealand comprehensively in all three matcᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚhes of the Test series in Australia last yea♉r in 2019, with margins above 200 runs in each match.
Talking about his struggles with speed and retaining his place in the squad, Jhye Richardson earlier said, “When you’re going through rehab, you have moments when you’re never really sure if you’re going to get back to where you were.”
“The rehab process … was probably as smooth as it could have gone. I didn’t necessarily take backward steps, there were a few plateaus along the way, which is pretty normal,” the West Australian told cricket.com.au.
“There were periods of two to three weeks, where nothing was getting better. It was still really sore, and I was off half my run, just trying to get faster and better and stronger. And nothing was really happening,” added Richardson.
Richardson picked up 15 wickets in the 14 matches played in the recent season of Big♑ Bash League (BBL), representing the Perth Scorchers.
