After scoring 10 an🤡d 42 in the first two games against Austraꦰlia, Indian opener Rohit Sharma bounced back in style to make the most of the batting-friendly conditions at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday as he registered his 29th century in the 50-over format.
By reaching the triple-figure mark, Rohit joined Virat Kohli in an elite list. The ‘Hitman’ now stands fourth in the all-time list of most centuries in ODIs, as he surpassed Sri Lankan veteran Sanath Jayasuriya’s tally of 28 hundreds. He now only stands behind Sachin Tendulkar (49), Kohli (43) and Australia’s Ricky Ponting (30).
Rohit also became the second-quickest to the landmark, having scored his 29th century in just 217 innings. Only Kohli got to the mark faster than him – 185 innings.

Just because we see it frequently we can sometimes take batting feats for granted. We have seen some extraordinary batsma𒆙n ship this home season. Rohit’s t𒉰he latest. 👏👏👏

Marvellous and hugely important century by Rohit. He’s kept India’s nose ahead in this run c🉐hase with magnificent strokeplay. Apart from Kapil Dev and Viru Sehwag, can’t think of another Indian batsman who hits 6s with such nonchalance. And nobody has hit them ☂so frequently

Superb century from Rohit. Has been India's anchor this chase. Hardly any fuss once he got there. Just a gentle raise of the bat.
