Former New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris has picked his Indian side for the upcoming T20I World Cup in Australia.
The most surprising name in Styris’ squad is of Punjab Ranji team batsman Shubman Gill. The cricketer-turned commentator went for Gill, who is yet to make his debut in the shortest format of the game.
Apart from Gill, Styris has also included Sanju Samson in his team. Samson, who is currently a part of the Indian squad, has impressed everyone with his IPL performances. However, th🐷e Kerala-born wicket-keeper is still warming the bench.
For the ꦏall-rounders, the ex-Kiwi player has picked Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja. Shivam Dube,♎ who is filling the boots of Pandya at present, has been left out by Styris.
Among fast bowlers, Styris went for Jasprit Bumrah, Navdeep Saini, and Deepak Chahar. Whereas Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have been picked as specialist spinners.
The upcoming T20 World Cup will get underway in October this year. Without any doubt, this ICC tournament will be too crucial for the Indian team as they haven’t won a single coveted title since 2013 Champions Trophy.
