England sealed their biggest away win in more than nine years in the third Test against South Afꦓrica to take a 2-1 lead in the four-match series.
Needing four wickets on the fifth day, the visitors bundled out the Proteas for 237 to seal victory by an innings and 53 runs.
From 102/6 overnight, still 188 short of making England bat again, South Africa’s margin of defeat would have been even greater if No. 8 Keshav Maharaj would not have scored 71.
In a record 10th-wicket p🤡artnership of 99 with Dane Paterson, Maharaj at one stage took 45 runs from 14 deliveries.
Maharaj was the last man to be dismissed as he attempted a single to mid-on, failing to beat a Sam Curran throw that hit the non-striker’s stumps directly.
