NZ vs IND: Shardul Thakur and Colin Munro barrel into each other during the second T20I at Eden Park

The visitors won the second T20I match between India and New Zealand held at Eden Park in Auckland by 7-wickets. The Virat-Kohli-led side are now 2-0 ahead in the five-match series. Unlike the first game, Indian bowlers performed except🐽ionally🗹 well, and fielders well assisted them.

In a much shorter ground where even the top edges go out of the boundary, Indian bowlers restricted the New Zealand team on just 132-5 in 20 overs. Only Colin Munro and Martin Guptill showed some fight by scoring 26 and 33, respectively. Speaking about Munro, then one can’t forget an incident involving him and Shardul Thakur in the match.

During the sixth over of the Kiwi’s innings, a brutal collision took place between Thakur and the Blackcaps opener Munro. The right-arm bowler launched a back of a length delivery down the leg-side, Munro missed the ball, and it rapped him on the body before deflects away on the off-side.

Munro’s partner Guptill charged in to take a quick single, and the left-handed batsman too responded on his teammate’s call. Meanwhile, Thakur also stormed in to prevent the single, but in an attempt to grab the ball, both Thakur and Munro collided.

Meanwhile, in the match, Indian batsmen chased down the target in 17.3 overs, thanks to KL Rahul (57 not out) who smashed yet another half-century and Shreyas Iyer (44) for his crucial innings. Rahul was honored with the ‘Player of the Match’ award.

The Men in Blue w🎶ill next meet the Kane Williamson-led side on Wednesday (Jan 29) at Seddon Park in Hamilton.
