ICC U19 World Cup 2020: India almost into the quarter-finals after a thumping win over Japan

Indian team’s superior performance continues in the ongoing U19 World Cup as they crunched the first-timers Japan by ten wickets.

Indian bowlers completely devastated the Japanese batting line-up folding them on just 41 runs. This was also the joint se𒉰cond-lowest score in the history of the Under 19 World Cup.

Kartik Tyagi kicked-off the proceedings after taking two wickets consecutively in the fifth over of Japan’s innings. Then c𒁏ame the leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi who dismantled Japan’s top-and-middle order claiming four wickets. He finished off with outstanding figures of 8-3-⛎5-4.

The Indian openers wasted no time in chasing down the low total. The duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Kumar Kushagra took just 29 balls to♍ win the game for India by ten wickets.

In♌dia, who are now almost into the quarterfinals, will next face New Zealand on Friday (Jan 24) at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein.
