Former South Africa batsman AB de Villiers is currently playing his inaugural season in the Big Bash League (BBL) for Brisbane Heat. He scored 40 off 32 in his debut game against Adelaide Strikers.
De Villiers, who is known for hitting some of the most bonzer and dashing cricketing shots, named players that he’s looking forward to play with or against in BBL.
In a video posted by cricket.com.au, ‘Mr 360’ picked left-hander Travis Head and his partner in Brisbane Heat, Chris Lynn, as the favorite batsmen.
“I always enjoy watching Travis Head bat, even though he’s not in my team, always enjoy watching him play.”
“Chris Lynn, obviously, I’m looking forward to be out there in the middle with him.”
L🌳ynn has the highest number of runs (2236) in BBL, whereas Head has 1081 runs in the tournament. Both of them have scored a century in BBL as well.
Among bowlers, De Villiers picked Tom Curran, Daniel Sams, and Rashid Khan.
“Some of the bowlers that are challenging to face that I’ve always wanted to face and win that little battle. There are quite a few of them that play around the Big Bash and all are world-class bowlers, that’s gonna be a lot of fun.”
Recently, De Villiers made headlines with his wish to make a comeback to the national side for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia.
The 35-year-old announced retirement from international cricket in May 2018. ABD played 114 Tests, 228 ODIs in which he scored 8765 and 9577 runs, r🧜espectively.
