New Zealand’s fast bowler Tim Southee is known for his brilliant out-swingers, but there is another aspect in which the right-hander has a mastery, and that is fielding.
In the past, Southee has taken some unbelievable catches, and on Day 1 of the Boxing Day Test, he yet again showed his brilliance on theꦓ field.
During the 22nd over of Australia’s first innings, Neil Wagner bowled a half wholly outside the off-stump. Warner pushed himself to play the ball without proper footwork, and it found the outside edge of his willow.
The edge flew into the slip cordon, where Southee grabbed a stunner with one hand. His outstan꧟ding effort drew praise from former Australian wicket-keeper Adam Gilchrist.
“(Ross) Taylor (at first slip) would’ve thought he was in the game, but Southee, the big fast bowler at second slip; that’s modern cricket for you,” said Gilchrist on Fox Cricket.
