India thumped West Indies by 67 runs in the third and final T20I to clinch the series 2-1 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday.
Indian pacers Deepak Chahar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami gave India early breakthroughs as they picked up one wicket apiece in the powerplay overs. Kieron Pollard and Shimron Hetmyer gave the Indian bowling unit some scare with their power-hitting but in the end, it proved futile as they couldn’t take their side across the finish line.
Earlier, the Windies skipper Pollard won the toss and asked India to bat first. Indian batsmen proved his decision wrong as KL Rahul (91), Rohit Sharma (71) and Virat Kohli (70 not out) all scored quick-fire half-centuries, helping India post a mammoth 240/3 in their stipulated 20 overs.
