PAK vs SL 1st Test: 32-year old Abid Ali creates history, Babar Azam also hits ton in drawn Test

After a decade, the first Test held in Pakistan ended in a draw. Rain turned out to be the main villain as only 167 overs were bowled in a match. However, there were moments that the home c𒈔rowd could cherish as both Abid Ali and Babar Azam scored centuries.

Ali was playing his first Test match, and after scoring the hundred, he ventured into record books as he became the only ma♔le cricketer in cricket history to score a ton on both his ODI and Test debut. Former England’s women player Enid B⛄akewell was the first cricketer to claim such record. She played for a period between 1968 and 1979.

Before this, Ali scored a century on his ODI debut against Australia in Dubai. Babar Azam also reached three figures with a punch through th𒁃e covers. This was Azam’s third ton after his knocks of 104 and 97 in Australia.

Both A꧂li and Azam remained unbeaten on 109 and 102, respectively, as hosts reached 252/2 when the stumps were drawn. Earlier, Sri Lanka declared on 308/6. Dhananjaya de Silva completed his 6th Test century, and he also remained unbeaten on 102.

The teams will hope for better luck with the weather when they play the second an🐲d final Test in Karachi, starting on✤ Thursday (December 19).
