Ali was playing his first Test match, and after scoring the hundred, he ventured into record books as he became the only male cricketer in cricket history to score a ton on both his ODI and Test debut. Former England’s women player Enid Bakewell was the first cricketer to clai🌟m such record. She played for a period between 1968 and 1979.

Before this, Ali scored a century on his ODI debut against Australia in Dubai. Babar Azam also reached three figures with a🤪 punch through the covers. This was Azam’s third ton after his knocks of 104 and 97 in Australia.

Both Ali and Azam remained unbeaten on 109 and 102, respectively, as hosts reached 252🧸/2 when the stumps were drawn. Earlier, Sri Lanka declared on 308/6. Dhananj꧙aya de Silva completed his 6th Test century, and he also remained unbeaten on 102.
