Australia captain Tim Paine found a unique way to compliment and sledge Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan at the same time on Day 1 of the Gabba Test on Thursday.
Paine was caught saying, “He smells very nice” while trying to unsettle Rizwan and provoke an erratic shot out of right-hander off Nathan Lyon’s bowling in the 46th over of first innings.
Before the hilarious comme𒊎nt, Paine also asked Rizwan to hit Lyon for a boundary with a sweep shot.
The 27-year-old came to bat after Pakistan suffered a batting collapse after the decent opening partnership.
Ift𒁏ikhar Ahmed had got ou🌄t to off-spinner Lyon in the same over.
Aཧfter losing half the side for 94, Rizwan shared a crucial 49-run stand with Asad Shafiq for the sixth wicket.
Rizwan scored a quickfire 37 including 🌱seven boundaries.

This is not the first time Paine has made headlines for his comments behind the stumps. In 2018, he sledged Rishabh 𒆙Pant as well asking him to babysit his kids.
