Rohit Sharma on Friday gave India fans and team management an injury scare when he left the net session midway after taking a blow🍃 on his left abdomen.
The Indian skipper was facing throwdowns from batting coach Vikram Rathour and throwing expert Nuwan Seneviratne of Sri Lanka when one shar🍸p delivery hit Rohit on the inside region of his left thigh.
Rohit did not return to batting at the nets after taking the blow. The right-handed batsman was visibly unhappy with the pace at which the ball was bowled at him, according ℱto PTI.
The Indian team has a designated left-arm throwdown expert in Sri Lanka’s Nuwan to counter left-arm seamers in the opposition, Mustafizur Rahaman, in this particular series.
Rohit, who will lead India in the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Virat Kohli’s absence, however, has been declared fit for the first game in Delhi.
Rohit is co⛄ming off after an incredible Test series against the visiting South Africa, where he♉ scored 529 runs at 132.25 in just four innings. He smashed three centuries in the series, including a double hundred.
Before that, the 31-year-old had a tremendous World Cup 2019, where he finished as the tournament’s top scorer, with the help of five centuries.
