David Warner struggled to put bat to💃 ball in the recently concluded Ashes, managing to score just 95 runs in 10 innings. And a month later, the struggles on England soil seem a distant past for Warner who sꦆingle-handedly demolished Sri Lanka in the three-match T20I series at home.
The left-handed opener starred in Australia’s 3-0 whitewash of Sri Lanka, hitting 217 runs without even getting out once over three matches. With the stunning effort, Warner became the first-ever opener to remain unbeaten in all 3 T20Is of a three-match series.
Warner roared back to form in the first T20I at the 𓃲Adelaide Oval, smashing a 56-ball 100 as Australia posted 233/2 before clinching a 134-run win. In the 2nd T20I at The Gabba, Warner propelled Australia to a 9-wicket victory as he starred in their chase of 118 runs with a 41-ball 60.
Warner emulated Virat Kohli and Colin Munro
During his unbeaten🍬 57 at the MCG, Warner became the first Australian batsman to complete 20🔴00 T20I runs.
The southpaw also became only the 3rd batsman in international cricket to score 50 plus🧜 scores in all three matches of a bilateral T20I series.
Virat Kohli, with scores of 90 not out, 59 not out, and 50 was the first batsman to do so during India tour of Australia in 2015-16. New Zealand’s Colin Munro achieved the record feat when he scored 53, 66 and 104 against West Indies in 2017-18.
