Rohit Sharma, the vice-captain of Team India in limited-overs, took to social media to wish Shardul Thakur on the occasion of his birthday. Shardul, who is bowling brilliantly in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Tro﷽phy, celebrated his 28th birthday with the Mumbai team on October 1🥃6.
Shardul is an aggressive quick bowler, who can swing the ball away from the right-handers. He also hits the deck hard, and can often rush batsmen with his skiddy pace. The speedster also plays for the MS Dh🗹oni-led Chennai Super Kings in IPL.
Thakur made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka two years ago but became the subject of an unwanted criticism after he wore the iconic ﷺnumber 10 jersey which was previously donned by the legend Sachin Tendulkar.
Soon after the game, the fast bowler himself cleared the air and explained the reason for him donning the No. 10 jersey. He said that the sum of his birth date is 10 and hence decided to get the number of the jersey as 10, and it had nothing t𝓀o do with the Master Blaster. But Rohit Sharma has started making fun of him ever since then.
And on Shardul’s 28th birthday, Rohit once again posted a cheeky tweet: “Many happy returns of the day buddy. Only the second player to wear the jersey. It takes guts to don that number but clearly you’re the best example of Impossible Is Nothing @imShard,” he wrote.
