Indian pacer Umesh Yadav was in rampaging form with the red ball in the third and final Test series🎶 against South Africa at Ranchi.
After bowling an unplayable delivery to remove Faf du Plessis in South Africa’s first innings, Yadav sent Quinton de Kock’s off-stump for a walk in the park during the second innings. It was an absolute ripper from the speedster, who bamboozled de Kock with his pace and sent his stump flying.
In the pursuit of India’s hefty first innings total of 497 runs, South Africa suffered an epic collapse as they were bundled out for just 162 and 133 runs in their first and second innings, respectively.
South Africa’s move to send De Kock to open the innings in the third Test backfired spectacularly as the left-hander failed to get off to a good start in both the innings.
On the first delivery of the second over in South Africa’s second innings, Yadav bowled around the good length area and managed to beat De Kock’s defence thanks to some late movement from the ball as it ripped into the batsman’s stumps and sent him packing after just 5 runs off six deliveries.
India thrashed South Africa by an innings and 202 runs in Ranchi and clinched the series 3-0. It was also India’s first clean sweep over the Proteas in Test cricket.
