South Africa op꧟ener Dean Elgar suffered a concussion after being hit on the head by a nasty bouncer from the Indian pacer Umesh Yadav on Day 3 of the third Test in Ranchi.
Yadav’s bouncer hit Elgar’s helmet in the second session of South Africa’s second innings. The incident also forced an early Tea break on the third day.
Theunis de Bruyn was named Elgar’s concussion substitute.

Umesh aimed a bouncer at Elgar, 🍸but the left-handed batsman completely took his eyes off the ball. It eventually hit Elgar on his helmet, and the batsman immediately showed signs of discomfort.
He gradually went down on the ground,𝔍 an🌟d the Indian players quickly came around to check him.
Earlier, South Africa was enforced upon a follow-on after they were bowled out on a paltry 162 in their first innings. In the second innings, the Proteas’ miseries continued as they lost five wickets for just 35 runs.
