Rohit Sharma on his Test debut as an opener proved many people wrong with his batting skills in the first outing against South Africa.
However, in the second Test, India knew they needed to get past the opening spell of Kagiso Rabada and Vernon Philander, and though they lost Rohit’s wicket for just 14, Mayank Agarwal (108) and Cheteshwar Pujara (58) laid a strong foundation for Virat Kohli (254*) and Ravindra Jadeja [91] to eventually take over.
The epic match had many moments from India creating history to Kohli breaking several records. There were some players like Ravichandran Ashwin and Wriddhiman Saha who even earned praised for their heroics.
However, a moment that stuck in everyone’s mind is that of Rohit Sharma falling down. Rohit’s catch to dismiss Senuran Muthusamyand and his eventual fall got fans talking and it became a social media meme.
