On Saturday, Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah added another feather to his cap, picking up a hat-trick against West Indies in the Jamaica Test. He is now the third Indian bowler to take a Test hat-trick after Harbhajan Singh (2001) and Irfan🌠 Pathan (2006).
Bumrah dismissed Darren Bravo, Shamarh Brooks, and Roston Chase to complete his maiden Test hat-trick. For the third wicket, Bumrah certainly got some help from Indian skipper Virat Kohli.
Facing the hat-trick ball, Roston Chase was trapped in front of the stumps, but Bumrah didn’t appeal as he thought that the ball hit the bat first. On-field Umpire Paul Reifel also sided with the batsman.
Standi🐭ng at the second slip, Kohli went straight up and took the DRS. Ball-tracking showed that the ball hit the pads first and was about to crash the leg stump.

After the day’s play, captain Kohli interviewed the pacer for ‘BCCI.TV’. He asked Bumrah about his feeling after taking a Test hat-trick, “6 wickets as we all know, but getting a Test hat-trick, how did that feel?”
“Actually, I didn’t know; I was not very sure of the appeal. I thought it was the bat so that I didn’t appeal so much. But it was a good review in the end. So, I think, I owe that hat-trick to the captain,” told Bumrah.
