WATCH: Pat Cummins bowls an absolute ripper to dismiss Joe Root in the second innings (Ashes 2019, 4th Test)

Australian pacer Pat Cummins bowled a magnificent spell, picking up two wickets in the first over of England’s innings on the fourth day of Manchester Test. Australia now needs 8 wickets on the fifth day to go up 2-1 in the series.

Earlier during the day, Australia declared their innings after adding 186 runs. Steve Smith was again the top scorer 𝄹for Australia, playing an outstanding knock of 82 runs off 92 balls.

At the start of their second innings, England needed 383 runs to win the match. England’s hope was dented a bit by Pat Cummins as he dismissed opener Rory Burns and Joe Root for a duck in the first over. At the end of the day’s play, England was 18/2.

After getting Rory Burns caught by Head at mid-off, Cummins bowled an absolute jaffa to dismiss England’s star batsman Joe Root. It is a good length ball that held its line and hit the top of the off-stump. Root had no answer to it as he stood at the crease staring at the surface.
