Team India’s new jersey with shirt sponsor Byju’s logo was unveiled in Dharamsala ahead of the first T20I against South Africa on Sunday.
Captain Virat Kohli, his deputy Rohit Sharma ಞand head coach Ravi Shastri launched the kit at a press conference.
Byju’s replaced Oppo as the new shirt sponsor in July this year.
The deal is from September 5, 2019 ꦺto March 31, 2022.
Oppo had signed a five-year 🌱deal with the BCCI in 2017, reportedly worth Rs 1079 crores.
“The BCCI has a clause which allows transfer of sponsorship,” a BCCI official said at that time. A source added that the transfer is a “tripartite agreement” between Oppo, Byju’s and the BCCI, which will, therefore, not lose any money with the new sponsor paying exactly the same amount as the previous one.
As per the deal, Oppo was paying the BCCI Rs 4.61 crore per bilateral match and Rs 1.56 crore for📖 an ICC event mat🉐ch.
Meanwhile, Indian players were also seen wearing practice jerseys with the logo of the ne𒁏w sponsor atও the HPCA Stadium on Saturday.
