In what should be the most authentic response to the rumours that MS Dhoni would be retiring from international cricket on Thursday, the former Indian skipper’s wife Sakshi posted just three words on her Twitter handle to put an end to all conjectures.
It all happened after the cricketing and media fraternities were on overdrive about the possibility of MSD hanging his boots, based on a post shared by current Indian captain Virat Kohli in which he recalled Mahi’s exploits in the 2016 T20 World Cup.
A game I can never forget. Special nigh🅰t. This man, made me run like in a fitness test 😄 🇮🇳
— Virat Kohli (@imVkohli)
Sakshi Dhoni’s tweet, where she says, “It’s called rumours !” essentially would be the next best thing to her husband scotching them and putting an end to all the permutation and combinations making the rounds.
Its called rumours !

Earlier in the day, Indian chief selector MSK Prasad also spoke about MS Dhoni’s retirement.
“No update on MS Dhoni’s retirement, the news is incorrect,” Prasad told media after announcing India’s squad for the three-match Test series against South Africa.
Dhoni has taken a sabbatical from competitive cricket after India’s 50-over World Cup campaign ended in the semi-finals.
He optꩲed out of the limited over series against the West Indies and has not been picked in the squad for the upcoming T20I series against a touring South Africa.
Dhoni last played a T20I 🐈for India in February 2019, against Australia in Bengaluru.
