In the latest ICC Test Rankings for Batsmen announced on 3rd September 2019, Australian star batsman Steve Smith has reclaimed the top spot. With 904 rating points, Smith surpassed India🌜n skipper Virat Kohli who now holds the second spot (903 rating points).
The former Australian captain showed his brilliant class in the first Ashes Test, scorin𝔉g twin centuries (144 & 142), ꦕsetting his team for victory. Smith now holds a batting average of 63.2 in Test cricket.
In the two-match Test series against West Indies, Indian skipper Virat Kohli scored 9 & 51 in the first Test and 76 & 0 in the second. Kohli’s next Test assignment will be against South Africa, which starts on 2nd October.
After having a fantastic series, the Indian vice-captain jumped to the 7th spot in⛄ the rankings.
In the ICC Test Rankings for Bowlers, Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah jumped four♑ places to grab the 3rd spot. Bumrah has been exceptional throughout the series, picking up his maiden Test hat-trick in the second Test against West Indies.
