And that misery continued on Sunday afternoon at The Oval, as he opened Australia’s second innings chasing the total of 399 to win the fifth and final Test match of the series.
However, as has been the case throughout the series, the 32-year-old didn’t last long, caught by Rory Burns from the bowling of Stuart Broad – for just eleven.

With that, Warner ensured that he be🌌came the first opening batsman in any Test series ever, to 🎉be out for eight single digit scores.
The former Australian vice-captain has been dismissed seven times by Stuart Broad this series, including for three succes💃sive ducks; prior to this Test, he had tallied just 95 runs at an average of just 9.5; which is the lowest ever by an opener batting ten innings in a series.
And E🌠ngland fans were quick to poke fun at the pantomime villain, with the Barmy Army ripping into him on Twitter with a brutal gag.
They tweeted an image of someone pretending to sell Warner’s Spartan bat on eBay – captioned: “NEVER USED – David Warner’s bat from 2019 Ashes tour.”
