Explosive West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell suffered a nasty blow on the head while batting in a Caribbean Premier League (CPL) match on Thursday. Russell was playing for the Jamaica Tallawahꦡs at Sabina Park. Post the incident, he was immediately rushed to the hospital for a CT scan.
St Lucia Zouks fast bowl♕er Hardus Viljoen’s short ball had hit Russell’s helmet near the right ear.
The 31-year-old fell on the ground, and the Zouks🌃’ fielders helped him remove his helmet. However, when the medical team arrived to check Russell’s condition, the right-hander was able to stand up on his feet.

The big-hitting Jamaican started walking off t🐻he field with a brace on his neck. He couldn’t make the long walk back to the pavilion, and he🐎nce, a stretcher was arranged.
Tallawahs head coach Donovan Miller said that there wasn’t any fresh update on Andre Rus♒sell’s injury as of now.

Later on, an update from the franchise confirmed꧙ that Russell was in no such danger as the i💖njury was not a serious one.

Jamaica Tallawahs put 170 runs on the board in their stipulate🌜d 20 overs, which St Lucia Zouks easily chased down with 20 balls remaining.
