On Wednesday, the Sri Lanka Cricket board announced the squad for the upcoming tour of Pakistan. The board names Lahiru Thirimanne as the captain for the ODI squad while Dasun Shanaka൩ will lead the T20I side.
Earlier this week, ten Sri Lankan pl🃏ayers including T20I skip💫per Lasith Malinga and ODI captain Dimuth Karunaratne opted out of the tour due to security fears.
On 3rd March 2009, the Sri Lankan team’s bus was attacked by militants in Lahore resulting in Pakistan losing the rights to host international matches. For this tour, the Sri Lankan Cricket board gave the players the freedom to decide if they wanted to travel. The announced squads include a lot of youngsters.
