Batting first, Afghanistan scored a total of 164/6 in their quota of 20 overs. Mohammad Nabi played a brillꦡiant knock of unbeaten 84 runs off 54 balls, hitting 3 fours and 7 sixes.
While chasing, Bangladesh lost both their opening batsman at the score of 11. Mahmudullah (44) and Sabbir Rahman (24) held the inningsꦰ during the middle, but the team got all-out for 139, losing by 25 runs.
