Windies vs India 3rd ODI: Virat Kohli’s lofted cover drive off Jason Holder leaves Sir Vivian Richards in awe

Sir Vivian Richards is regarded as one of the greatest batsmen ever 💜to have played for West Indies. In the late 70s and the early 80s, he used to dominate the run-scoring charts with🐬 his swashbuckling style of batting and attacking stroke play.

The former West In⛄dies batsman has not walked away completely from cricket even after his retirement and continues to 🃏be associated with the game as a mentor and commentator.

To earn praise from a living legend like Sir Viv Richards is not an easy job but Indian skipper Virat Kohli has made him his fan.

On Wednesday, Kohli was at his best once again as he smashed his 43rd ODI century and powered India to a comprehensive win over West Indies in the final ODI of the three-match series in Trinidad.

Kohli played a majestic k♕nock of unbeaten 114 off 99 balls helping India chase down the revised target of 255 runs (35 overs) with 15 balls to spare.

En-route his knock, Kohli played a lofted cover drive which left Sir Richards 💮in awe at the commentary box.

In the 22nd over of India’s innings, Kohli played a glorious cover drive against West Indies captain Jason Holder. Kohli made some room by going leg-side with his bottom leg bent to a large extent. Virat didn’t lose his shape though. Despite not being in the best of positions to play the shot, Kohli found the middle of the bat and fielders on the off-side had absolutely no chance of stopping the ball from racing away. All they could do is stand and watch.

The shot made the dynamic Richards laud the 30-year-old: “Look at the body language…. oh, man. I’d be happy to play something like that when I was playing.”
