West Indies vs India: Harsha Bhogle opens up on Rishabh Pant’s irresponsible shot selection

On Wednesday, India defeated West Indies by six wickets in the final ODI of the three-match series at Queen’s Park Oval. Indian skipper Virat Kohli smashed his 43rd ODI century, taking the Men in Blue to the finish line.

India’s current number 4 batsman, Rishabh Pant disappointed his fans once again. Pant came out to bat after the dismissal of Shikhar Dhawan in the 13th over of India’s inning (91/2).

Facing the very first delivery, Pant went down the pitch for a big hit but found himself nowhere near the bowl, giving an easy cat🧔ch to Keemo Paul standing at mid-off.

Harsha Bhogle, the popular Indian cricket commentator and journalist,  was not at all impressed with Pant’s shot selection. He had a clear message for the youngster, tweeting, “This is a shot that Rishabh Pant will want to forget but shouldn’t. It should remind him of how much ability he is wasting. He is a batsman-keeper, not the other way around, so his batting must speak for him even more.

Earlier, Pant also faced 🥀heat in the T20I seﷺries against West Indies when he got himself dismissed in a similar fashion. The incident occurred during the first T20I, Pant on his first delivery decided to slog sweep and gave a simple catch to the deep squ൩are leg fielder.

Shreyas Iyer, who came at number 5, played a cruciಞal knock of 65 runs off 41 balls, adding 120 runs for the 4th wicket partnership with captain Virat Kohli.
