Jasprit Bumrah produced a fiery spell of fast bowling on Day 4 of the first Test betwe⛄en West Indies and India in Antigua.
After Ben Stokes came ꦚup with one of the best Test knocks ever in an Ashes effort at Headingley, Bumrah gave cricket fans a lot to cherish by rattling the timber at will at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.
The Indian speedster completed his first spell with astonishing figures of 8-4-7-5. He picked his 4th 5-wicket haul in Tests ꦿand powered to their first win in the inaugural edition of ICC World Test Championship.
Bumra💯h has now claimed 5-wicket hauls in all the overseas countries he has toured. He is the first Asian bowler to take a five-wicket haul in South Africa, England, Australia, and the West Indies. His spell of 5/7 in the cheapest 5-for for an Indian bowler.
The 25-year-old pacer started it all by removing Kraigg Brathwaite with the one that left the right-hander. He then came up with an inswinging beauty to go through the gap between John Campbell’s bat and pad and hit the timber. In a similar manner, Bumrah made Darren Bravo hear the death rattle.
Wicketkeeper Shai Hope was castled when Bumrah’s delivery pitched on a good length and moved just enough to uproot the off-stump.
Then came the special yorker to remove Jason Holder. The West Indies captain, who was handed a reprieve after Hanuma Vihari dropped him earlier in the innings, found his off-stump cartwheeling when Bumrah’s late outswinger outfoxed the right-hander.
