India’s Jemimah Rodrigues smashed an unbeaten century for Yorkshire Diamonds in a Kia Super League T20 match on Sunday. Her 112 not out off 58 balls came under pressure in a thrilling last-ball win over Southern Vipers. The right-handed batter’s ton included 17 fours and a six that helped her side chase down a competitive total of 185 runs, with four wickets to spare. It was the most successful run chase against t🐲he Vipers in the mega event.
Rodrigues ended up hitting the fastest hundred – off 51 balls. In the process, the batswoman broke Lizelle Lee’s record of the quickest KSL ton. Lee had notched up a 55-ball century in the year 2017.
The 18-year-old, with 341 runs, also m﷽oved to the 2nd spot in the list of lea🌺ding run-scorers in the league.
Rodrigues emerged as the first non-opener in the tournament to score a t෴on. Overall, she is t𓆉he 6th player to get a hundred under her belt in the Kia Super League.
The batting all-rounder arrived at the crease after skipper Lauren Winfi💯eld’s dismissal on the 2nd ball, and she stayed till the end.
