Ishant Sharma completed his ninth five-wicket haul as ✤India left West Indies reeling at 189/8 on day two of the first Test at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound in Antigua on Friday.
The Indians were helped by Roston Chase (4🐓8 off 47), John Campbell (23 off 30), Darren Bravo (18 off 27), Shai Hope (24 off 65) and Shimron Hetmyer (35 off 47) who were all guilty of throwing it away after promising starts.
Earlier, India resumed on 203-6, before Ishant contributed 19 runs of a 60-run eighth-wicket partnership with Rav🎶indra Jadeja that helped the visitors to post 2♛97 on the board. And it looked like a pretty good total by the end of the day.
Jadeja was the last man out, for 58, the second-highest scorer behind vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane’s 81.
Brief Scores: India 297 (Ajinkya Rahane 81, Ravindra Ja🅰deja 58; Kemar Roach 4-66, Shannon Gabriel 3-71) lead West Indies 189/8 (Roston Chase 48, Shimron Hetmyer 35; Ishant Sha🀅rma 5-42) by 108 runs runs
