Pakistan batsman Umar Akmal reported that he was approached for match-fixing in the ongoing Global T20 Canada to💝urnament. The T20 franchise league boasts of the participation of cricketing superstars like Yuvraj Singh, Shahid Afridi, Chris Gayle and Andre Russell.
According to Pakistani media reports, Akmal immediately contacted the anti-corruption wing of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He said he was asked to indulge in th𝓡e c🦩orrupt act of fixing some league games by the former Pakistan cricketer, Mansoor Akhtar and an Indian bookmaker.
Following the accusation, “Mansoor Akhtar was dismissed from his post; however, the final decision regarding the incident is yet to be made,” reported Dunya News.
Akhtar is an official who is a part of the Winnipeg Hawks team management. Besides Akmal, the franchise also 🎀includ𓄧es high-profile players like Dwayne Bravo, Chris Lynn and JP Duminy.
Geo TV reported that Akmal had filed a complaint against Akhtar, informing the PCB as well as the🅠 GT20 administration.
“Anti-corruption officials have swung into action after the reported incident,” the Geo TV report said.
Umar Akmal hasꦇ played three mꦬatches for the Hawks till now and has scored 12, 49 and 9 runs respectively.
Mansoor Aꦇkhtar, who presently resides in the United States, was a part of about 19 Tests and 41 ODIs between 1980 and 🐟1990.

This is not the first ti♋me something like this is happening. Earlier, Umar Akmal had made controversial claims in a TV interview. He revealed that he was approached for match-fixing by someꦐ bookmakers during the 2015 World Cup and Hong Kong Super Sixes.
