Pakistan batsman Umar Akmal reported that he was approa﷽ched for match-fixing in the ongoing Global T20 Canada tournament. The T20 franchise league boasts of the participation of cricketing superstars like Yuvraj Singh, Shahid Afridi, Chris Gayle and Andre Russell.
According to Pakistani media reports, Akmal immediately contacted the anti-corruption wing of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He said he was 💙asked to indulge in the corrupt act of fixing some league games by the former Pakistan cricketer, Mansoor Akhtar and an Indian bookm🌟aker.
Following the accusation, “Mansoor Akhtar was dismissed from his post; however, the final decision regarding the incident is yet to be made,” reported Dunya News.
Akhtar is an official who is a part of the Winnipeg Hawks team management. Besides Akmal, tཧhe franchise also includes high-profile players like Dwayne Bravo, Chris Lynn and JP Duminy.
Geo TV reported that Akmal had filed a complaint aౠgainst Akhtar, i💞nforming the PCB as well as the GT20 administration.
“Anti-corruption officials have swung into action after the reported incident,” the Geo TV report said.
Umarꦗ Akmal has played three matches for the Hawks till now and has scored 12, 49 and 9 runs respectively.
Mansoor Akhtar, who present𝕴ly resides in the United States, was a part of about 19 Tests and 41 ODIs between 1980 and 1990.
As per reports by PTI, Ak🌠htar went incommunicado after being exposed by Ak🍸mal.
This is not the first time something like this is happening. Earlier, Umar A🌺kmal had made controversial claims in a TV interview. He revealed that he was approached for match-fixing by some bookmakers during the 2015 World Cup and Hong Kong Super Sixes.
