Riding on a splendid hundred by Jonny Bairstow – his second of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 – and a fine performance by the bowling unit, England hammered New Zealand by 119 runs at Cheste🔜r-le-Street and stormed into the semi-finals of the 10-nation to🅰urnament.
Engl🗹and scored 305 for 8 and then🌱 bowled out New Zealand for 186 in 45 overs.
They are now the third team to qualify for the semi-finals after India and Austra🙈lia.
Earlier, wicket-keeper Jos Buttler took a sensational catch down the leg-side to send Martin Guptill packing as New Zealand lost their dangerous opener for just 8. Jofra Archer bowled it in short into Guptill’s midriff, who ended up glowing it down the leg and was going wide of Buttler.
The English keeper swiftly moved to his left beforeꦯ sticking his left glove⭕ out to complete the catch.
