India wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni scored 35 runs off 33 balls against Bangladesh in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 league fixture on Tuesday. Dhoni took India past 300 after they lost some quick wickets in the middle overs. However, Dhoni’s inability to hit big shots and his refusal to take singles in the final over enraged many fans.
Dhoni has already faced a lot of flak from fans and cricket experts alike for “baffling innings” during India’s only defeat in the ongoing World Cup to England on Sunday (June 30).
Dhoni first denied to take two single🌳s in the final over and then got out on the third ball against Banglad🎶esh. Many questioned his tactics, while his fans defended his approach.
But, Indian model and actress Sophie Choudry came out in defence of the veteran cricketer and t꧃ried to shut🎀 down all the MSD trollers with her excellent remarks. On Twitter, Sophie tried to explain exactly why Dhoni had to adjust according to the current situation of the match and he played well against Bangladesh.
She gave the example of how both Mohammad Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar lost their wickets against Bangladesh in quick succession. Her tweet read, “Shocked by the way fans are criticising #dhoni .. If you saw the way bhuvi lost his wicket as did Shami, you would understand why Dhoni probably wanted to keep the strike as much as possible!! Incidentally, he still managed to score more than the captain today! #justsaying.”

Here’s how she responded to the fans:
Every player goes through ups & downs…true fans stand by them so that they emerge victorious again✌🏼 Perhaps he isn’t in his best batting form , but some are calling him a selfish player and that is ridiculous! I think has proved his worth enough times over the years!

Criticism is not the problem. All public figures are criticised. It is the way it is being done by most “fans” that’s disgus⭕ting.

Last I checked, cricket is a team sport and you sure as hell cannot blame one per☂son for losing th🅺e entire World Cup🙄!
