India bowed out of the ICC Cricke๊t World Cup 2019 after suffering an 18-run defeat against New Zealand in the first semi-final at the Old Trafford in Manchester.
Chasing New Zealand’s total of 239-8, India were bundled out for 221 despite Ravindra Jadeja’s brilliant 59-ball 77.
Virat Kohli’s side recovered from 5-3 to 208-6 but fell just short, with Matt Henry finishing with three wickets.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan Vaughan wasted little time before trolling India and in particular, their skipper Virat Kohli, posting a picture of the superstar batsman holding a plane ticket on his Instagram accoꩲunt.
Earlier last month, ICC posted the cheeky tweet before India vs South Africa encounter. The illustration shared showed Virat Kohli sitting on a throne with a crown on his head and bat in his hand. A board behind him shows India’s previous two World Cup triumphs in 1983 and 2011.

Meanwhile, speaking after India’s shocking loss to New Zealand, Kohli said: “The way they came out and bowled in that first half-an-hour was the difference in the game.
“With the new ball they were outstanding with the areas that they hit. It made life very difficult.
“I thought Jadeja had an outstanding game; the way he played today was a great sign for his skillsets and what he can do for the team.
“It always feels disappointing when you”ve played good cricket and 45 minutes of bad cricket puts you out of the tournament. ‘It’s difficult to accept and to come to terms with but New Zealand deserve it because they put enough pressure on us and were sharper when it came to the crunch moments,” he added.
New Zealand will face either host England or defending champions Australia in Sunday’s final at Lord’s.
