Australian opening batsman David Warner welcomed his baby girl on Sunday and named her – Isla Rose Warner – a day after Australia beat New Zealand at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
Warner shared a picture on Instagram with his family, and wrote, “We welcomed our newest family member Isla Rose Warner at 10:30 pm late last night. @candywarner1 was absolutely amazing. Mum and Bub doing very well and her big sisters are over the moon. #prouddad.”
The southpaw confirmed that his wife Candice Warner and the newborn are doing 𝄹well.
Mrs. Warner also took to Instagram to share a picture of her ‘complete family’. In her post, she mentioned that her daughters, Ivy Mae and Indi Rae, are extremely proud of their newborn sister.
“Welcome to the world our gorgeous Isla Rose Warner. Born June 30th at 10:30 pm. Our little family is now complete. Ivy and Indi are so proud of their sister. @davidwarner31 Your support was and is amazing. Isla we love you. #blessed.”
Candice, who had experienced two miscarriages over the past year, did not want to disrupt her husband’s tournament and left Australia early this month for London as she medically would not have been able to fly after that date.
The planned arrival of his new child will not affect David’s World Cup schedule as he will join the Australian team ahead of their final league match against South Africa at Old Trafford on Saturday.
