Aiming to take “a billion dreams” to the moon, India has successfully launched its second lunar mission Chandrayaan-2. The launch was done from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh at 2.43 pm IST on Monday (July 22).
The prime objective of the mission is to map the location and abundance of lu𓆏nar water. Chandrayaan-2 was l🐠aunched using the 640-tonne rocket Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle-Mark III (GSLV-Mk III).
Shortly after the spacecraft was successfully launched, Indian cricket fraternity took to social media to congratulate the Indian Space and Research Organisation (ISRO). The likes of Virat Kohli, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar and Suresh Raina s💟hared their felicitations over their respective Twitter handles.
