England skipper Eoin Morgan, who hopped off the f𒁃ield in the World Cup 2019 fixture against West Indies, with a dodgy back, showed no signs of pain as he smashed the fastest hundred of this edition, and fourth quickest overall, off just 57 balls against Afghanistan at the Old Trafford in Manchester on Monday. He achieved the record feat with a six off Rashid Khan.
Morgan struck a record 17 sixes – the most number of sixes by a player in an ODI innings – and 4 fours during his scintillating knock which saw the wheels coming out of Afghanistan’s bowling unit.
Morgan’s blistering knock of 148 off 71 balls helped England to p♎ost a mam💯moth 397-6 in their 50 overs.
Gulbadin Naib jokingly pulls Eoin Morgan back
The inciden𓂃t took place in the 32nd over when Eoin Morgan dabbed the ball to the off-side and tried to set off for a quick single. But with the fielders, including bowler Gulba♕din Naib, converging to get hold of the ball, the England batsmen decided against it.
However, when Morgan was coming back to his crease, the Afghanistan captain tried to stop him from reachinꦺg the batting crease.
In all🥀 the haste, the 🎶batsman lost his bat only for Naib to give it back as there were smiles all around.
