Rohit Sharma smashed 140 off 113 balls to lead India to 336 for five after being put into bat i🍌n the rain-affected World Cup 2019 clash against Pakistan in Manchester on Sunday.
Indian bowlers, led by spinner Kuldeep Yadav, then combined to restrict Pakistan to 212 for six while chasing a revised target of♏ 302 in 40 overs. India won by 89 runs via DLS method and ha✨ve now built a 7-0 lead over their arch-rivals in World Cup matches.
But Rohit, who was blessed with a baby girl during India’s tour of Australia in December last year, said his young family has played a key role in helping him focus on his performances on the pitch. “It’s a very good phase of my life. Having a daughter, a newly born daughter in my life actually has put me in a good space,” Rohit told reporters after his ‘Man of the match’ performance.
The dashing opener, who led his IPL side Mumbai🔜 Indians (MI) to their fourth IPL title in May, has already scored 319 runs in three innings as India are unbeaten in four World Cup 2019 games, including a washout.
It was Father’s Day when India beat Pakistan at Old Trafford to keep their unbeaten record against Pakistan intact.
On Twitter, MI too used Rohit’s post-match quote while lauding the in-form Hitman.
👨👧 credits daughter Samaira for putting him 🌞into good space!
