Australia have moved closer to the World Cup 2019 semi-finals after David Warner powered the re🍸igning champions to a comfortable 48-run win over a competitive Bangladesh with his second century of ﷺthe tournament.
Toss: Australia captain Aaron Finch won the toss and𝔉 elected to bat first against Bangladesh in Trent Bridge, Nottingham on Thursday.
First innings: David Warner smashed a sensational 166, his second century of the tournament, to lead Australia to a formidable 381-5. He added 121 runs with skipper Aaron Fi💖nch (53) and then raised a 192-run stand with Usman Khawaja (89). Rain halted play with just one over left to be bowled in the Australian innings. After a while, Marcus Stoinis (17) and Alex Carey (11) returned to collect 13 from the last over as Australia posted their second-highest score in World Cup. Soumya Sarkar (3/58) was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh.
Second innings: Faced with a daunting task to chase down the massive target, Bangladesh, as expected, took the fight to the rival camp but ended up at 333-8 in their stipulated 50 overs. Mushfiqur Rahim (102 not out), Mahmudullah (69), Tamim Iqbal (62) and Shakib Al Hasan (41) gave their all in the 🎐chase but the effort still proved insufficient though the total was their best ever in ODIs. For Australia, Mitchell Starc (2/🎃55) and Nathan Coulter-Nile (2/58) shared four wickets between them.

Australia prevail in a run-fest at Trent Bridge!
714 runs in the game – the most ever in a World Cup match!
Mushfiqur Rah꧒im brought up a terrific century for the Tigers, but in vain.
Australia go back to the top of the table.
