CWC 2019: Windies star Andre Russell ruled out of World Cup; replacement announced

West Indies star all-rounder Andre Russell has been ruled out of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 owing to a hamstring injury. He will now be replaced by right-handed batsman Sunil Ambris in 🐼the 15-member squad.

In the ongoing World Cup edition, Russell has taken five wickets in four matches he played, in the matc⛎h against New Zealand, Russell was dropped from the playing🐎 XI.

Russell visibly struggled with a knee problem during Windies’ match against Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, Ambri🎃s will join up with his team in preparation for the match against India at Old 🅷Trafford on Thursday.

The 26-year-old Ambris has featured in six ODIs and averages 105.33. He has a hundred and a half-century fifty 🔯to his name in t🎶he 50-over format.

Well, after🐠 managing only one win from their six games, the West Indies have very slim chance of making it to the semi-finals of the showpiece event in England and Wales.
