In their last game of the season, Kings XI Punjab comfortably defeated Chennai Suꦕper Kings by 6 wickets. With this victory, KXIP jumped from the bottom of the IPL Points Table to the 6th spot.
KXIP opening batsman Lokesh Rahul created a new record, scoring the fastest fifty against Chennai Super Kings (50 runs off 19 balls) in the tournament. For his fantastic knock of 71 runs off 36 balls, he was awarded the ‘Man of the Match’.
In the 13th over of KXIP inning, Chennai Super Kings middle-order batsman Kedar Jadhav’s injured his left shoulder while diving to save an overthrow. Jadhav managed to save 2 runs, but due to pain, he walked off the field.
Kedar Jadhav’s injury update
In the post-match conference, Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming provided an update on Kedar’s injury. Fleming said, “Kedar Jadhav’s getting an x-ray and a scan tomorrow. I don’t think we’ll see him again in this tournament for us. He’s in some discomfort. Fingers crossed that it is nothing too serious but it didn’t look that good“.
It might be a big blow for Chennai Super Kings as Kedar is one of the core players for the team. They will play the ‘Qualifier 1’ on 7th May at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
