Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer Jasprit Bumrah was applauded by cricket fans and experts for his magnificent spell in the final match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) 🀅in Hyderabad on Sunday.
The 25-year-old pacer took 2 for 14 on a batting friendly pitch and helped his side clinch their fourth IPL title in 𒁏seven years, beating the defending champions CSK by one run in a nail-biting thriller.
How🌺ever, besides his performance with the ball, Bumrah also impressed with his on-field temperament during the high-pressure game. In the 17th over, CSK opener Shane Watson (80 off 59 balls) skied one off Bumrah but Rahul Chahar, 🅷who was fielding at deep mid-wicket, put it down despite running in hard. It should have been a simple catch but Bumrah kept smiling, empathising with the youngster in such a tense moment.
Bumrah walked up to Quinton de Kock to console him
In the 19th over which was Bumrah’s final in the game, he conceded just five runs and took the wicket of the CSK all-rounder Dwayne Bravo. However, the final delivery of the over saw the MI wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock failing to stop the ball from going to the boundary as four byes.
For any bowler, it could have been a moment of despair but not for Bumrah. Even as the wicket-keeper was upset, the bowler was seen walking up to the former, chatted with him and even shared a laugh with him before going away. The final over was bowled by Lasith Malinga and he did a brilliant job in restricting the CSK a run short of the MI’s total.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to Bumrah’s gesture towards De Kock:

Brilliant calmness under pressure from Mumbai. Bumrah's gesture when De Kock missed the last ball and it went for 4 Byes showed his maturity and calmness and Rohit also handled the pressure extremely well. Well tried Chennai. But congratulations Mumbai on a 4th title

Jasprit bumrah is a champion bowler, great ambassador,a role ﷺmodel to ꦅemulate . Moms are always proud of their kids and Bumrah’s mom should be mighty proud of raising a gem ! The way he responded to Quinton after his gaffe was the moment of the final ! .

Jasprit Bumrah bowled a gem of a spell in a big game under pressure. He laughed it away when Rahul Chahar dropped Watson of his bowling. He consoled Quinton De Kock when he gave away those byes in a big moment. The man is captain material, as cal🎀m as a toad in the sun.

For me this was the best moment of the entire . With the trophy on line , Quinton de Kock lets one through and it races to the fence . A distraught de Kock thꦛought he had spilled the cup. Jasprit Bumrah the bowler walks up to him and puts an arm around .
ABSOLUTE CLASS.
