South Africa opening batsman Hashim Amla was forced to leave the field inꦅ the opening game of the ICC 🤡Cricket World Cup 2019 after being struck in the head by a 90 mph ball from England pacer Jofra Archer.
The ferocious bouncer from Archer in the fourth over of South Africa’s run chase caught the Proteas opener into the grille.
It looked as though Amla was okay to continue but it seems concussion tests have shown some💎thing up and he has had to retire hurt.
Amla, who rubbed his forehead as he departed,✨ was replaced by Aiden Markram, with South Africa on 14 at no loss.
According to new laws, a 🎶team can replace a p🌳layer who has a concussion or a suspected concussion while tests are carried out.
A pla🍎yer who has been struck on the head 𒅌will undergo a five-minute on-field assessment and, if there are concerns, they will leave the pitch before a liaison officer makes a decision on their replacement.
